Remembering Murphy the Disneyland Fantasmic Dragon
It has been so sad to watch the videos of the fire at Disneyland this past weekend that took out the beloved animatronic dragon nicknamed “Murphy” (as in Murphy’s law) by so many. Sadly, pictures of its destruction and the charred metallic corpse that remained by the next morning have littered social media and websites for the past couple of days.
I wanted to focus more on the wonderful memories instead. Above is a brief clip of Murphy showing off last August. I’m sure that Disney will find a way to bring the dragon back and I hope this is a wake up call to those in corporate that neglecting the parks is never a good idea. I don’t want to focus on the negative when it comes to the state of the parks however as a long time visitor since 1973, I have seen the parks go through a lot of changes. But I have never seen them in such a state of disrepair as they are now.
What do you think? Could Disney focus more on the quality of the park experience to include keeping things in better repair?
